How long have you been a Realtor® and what do you like best about being an agent?
I have had a real estate license since 1999, so 24 years! One of the things I love most about real estate is that I get to help people through life transitions. I’ve always had knack for ‘counseling’ and this career taps into some of that; people are often dealing with death, divorce, downsizing, starting a family and so forth and this is usually the biggest purchase of their lives, so there’s a lot of emotion. Absorbing some of the emotional angst is my specialty. I am also a huge believer in creating generational wealth through real estate.
What prompted you to take the Home Staging Expert® Workshop?
You often walk into someone’s home and can tell it’s eclectically theirs. You know that’s not going to help them sell but navigating that is awkward. Having the certification allows my clients to see that I know what I’m talking about. I knew about some of this to some degree, but I didn’t have that confidence until completing the certification to verbalize it.
How do you plan to use the skills you learned and are you using them already?
Understanding that finding the best feature of the home and then playing into that feature when staging was very helpful. That has proven to be very beneficial in understanding.
Would you recommend this course to other Realtors® and if so, why?
Yes! I would and I have for all the same reasons that it’s helped me! Understanding the goals in staging a home and having the confidence to take the lead in the staging process.
