Do I need a license to become a Professional Home Stager?
No. There are currently no state or federal regulations governing the Home Staging Industry.

Do I need certification to become a Professional Home Stager?
No. Again, there are currently no state or federal regulations governing the Home Staging Industry. Likewise, there are no state or federally recognized certification programs in play.

Do I need training to become a Professional Home Stager?
No. Anyone can become a Professional Home Stager without taking formal training.

Then why do I need to take Home Staging training?
While you don't actually need to take any formal training, Home Staging is a particular niche. The more knowledge and experience you have in the basic principles, the more comfortable and confident you will be when it comes to staging a home on your own. And with the expansion of the Home Staging Industry, it has also become more and more common for both Home Owners and Real Estate Agents to require proof of a Home Stagers experience. As a beginner in the Industry, it is to your advantage to have some type of credential to back your services.

What type of Home Staging training is right for me?
It all depends on your needs. While we can not speak for other training courses available, the options we offer cater to both the "How-To's," as well as the business information you will need to get started. Whether you are adding Home Staging to an already established design or real estate business, or trying to break into the Home Staging Market on your own, the business and marketing aspect of this industry are equally as important as knowing how to physically stage a home.

Can I join other Home Staging groups based on training courses I take with Home Staging Expert™?
Some, yes. Some, no. While there are certainly other Home Staging groups that will accept any type of training courses you have taken, other groups have been set up to specifically benefit their own training programs. It is best to check with the individual organization to find out their requirements.

Can I earn the Home Staging Expert™ designation if I have already taken Home Staging training with another company/individual?
Yes. Though we do require you take an extension course, as our staging methods are very different from other courses currently being offered.

Once I complete training, how long before I can actually begin staging homes on my own?
The knowledge you learn in with your Home Staging Expert™ training is designed to get you started the moment you have completed our course.

What kind of income can I expect to make as a Home Staging Expert™?
Like any business, we could not possibly predict what your earnings will be. The area you live in, the economy, what type of services you offer, and how much you put into it, are just a few of the many factors. Any new business should be realistic about standing on it's own, and give itself an incubation period before it is working at full throttle. Real Estate Agent's who add Home Staging to their client services can expect to find profitability much sooner within their own listings.

What about Industry competition?
In every industry, competition is a given. But keep it in perspective. There are literally thousands and thousands of homes on the market at any given time. It is highly unlikely you will be able to stage every one of them! And just like any other service-oriented business, your ability to contend will be based on how you connect with your clients, how you perform, and what you do to make yourself stand out from the rest. While competition should certainly never be taken lightly, it should also not be the sole deciding factor in determining your potential for success.

What if the city I live in is not open to the idea of Home Staging?
New concepts are difficult in any area. But wherever there homes on the market, there is room for someone to stage them! In a slow market, an edge over the competition. In a strong market, the ability to list for an even higher profit. It's simply a matter of finessing your services to fit your market.
